About me - English
Raised in a bilingual household (English/German), I speak with native pronunciation. My extended family lives in the northwest corner of Germany, but my grandparents emigrated to Pennsylvania in the 1950s.
Qualifications & Experience
I hold a Master’s degree in Education, another in Teacher Leadership, and a Bachelor’s degree in German. I have been a one-on-one tutor for 15 years and currently teach full-time in the Pennsylvania public school system as a credentialed German and French teacher. I am also credentialed to teach Science, English Language Arts and English as a Second Language.

Prior students will confirm that I offer patient, experienced teaching tailored to your individual needs. My language instruction is based on your levels and preferences. You will find that YOU are doing most of the speaking beginning with our first lesson! In addition to conversation and helpful vocabulary, I often use visuals as prompts to supplement my lessons. If you are more advanced, or are preparing for communication in a specific field (business, medical, technology, etc.), I am prepared to design our lessons by focusing on the vocabulary and grammar that will serve you best. I also regularly research news in German-speaking countries to include new topics in our lessons for vocab building, translation, or simply for cultural discussion.
