Vaclav is a very professional teacher.very thorough, knowledgable, quickly assessed my level and I started learning straight away. Very focused and kept me on track, great at explaining complex Czech in a way I understand. I totally recommend him.
My name is Vaclav. I’m a 23 year old student living in Prague.
I’m in my last year of studies of Phonetics and Logic at Charles University. Phonetics is concerned with speech in general so Czech pronunciation, including segmental level (r, ř,...), stress, rhythm or intonation, is a big part of my studies. Logic is not directly linked to this, but it teaches me abstract and systematic thinking, which is also useful in language teaching.
Qualifications & Experience
My main teaching experience comes from tutoring English for the last 2 years and teaching Czech for the last year.
I have taught students at different levels and different ages (ranging from 13 to 40) and I always try to find a teaching style based on each individual's needs. I really enjoy teaching and spend as much time preparing the lessons as on teaching itself.
Teaching Approach
I am open to what ideas students bring and we try to find together the most effective way to learn. The ratio of conversation and grammar may therefore vary, but all grammar should be practically motivated and usable in everyday language for each student's current level.
