About me - English
Hi everyone,
My name is Jana, I am 36 and I am an experienced teacher by profession. I grew up in Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic. I speak fluent Czech and English.
I have many interests some of which include music, science and healthy living. I currently live and work in the UK, I moved here in 2002.
Qualifications & Experience
I have an M.Sc teaching degree from the Faculty of Education in the Czech Republic, where I studied English and French as well as Biology.
In addition to English and French I speak intermediate Italian and I taught Italian for beginners in a language school in the Czech Republic.
I finished my PhD degree in 2008 and since then I've been a member of the University research and teaching staff and I teach students regularly. I am a committed teacher and tutor who prioritises student’s interests.
Teaching Approach
To establish learning objectives with a student, I offer my first lesson for free. You can express your preferences and we can decide if it is a structured learning plan of Czech grammar or specific areas of the language that you would like to concentrate on, such as business Czech or technical Czech or if your goal is to be able to enjoy social and fun conversation.
In all cases, I am here to help you to achieve that. Even if it is more cultural advice you need I can share that too. In my lessons I take into account your interests and hobbies as well as current affairs and include case studies and role-plays.
The most important aspect for me is to keep you motivated and deepen your knowledge in a fun and engaging way. Learning a new language should not be a chore, it should be a joy!
