My name is Vanda Erdősi, I teach Hungarian as a foreign language. This is my profession, my field of research and also my hobby.

I have a master’s degree in Hungarian as a Foreign Language, and after university I attended a doctoral school of applied linguistics at the University of Pécs, Hungary.

My fields of research are the teaching of Hungarian as a second language from the viewpoint of communicative methods, and the problems of successful communication in the language teaching process. These are the main fields of my semi-finished PhD-thesis.

I’ve been teaching Hungarian language at the University of Pécs and as a freelance tutor since 2002. I worked at this university as a junior lecturer from 2010 to 2011, my main course units were the methodology of the teaching of Hungarian, applied linguistics, pragmatics, inter cultural communication etc.

I have trained future Hungarian language teachers and participated in a project with my colleagues in which we wrote a complete Hungarian course book for foreign students (the book is forthcoming, now it is being used as a university material).

Currently I'm working as a Hungarian language teacher and a study material developer at the International Studies Centre at the Faculty of General Medicine at the Univertsity of Pécs, and I’m a Hungarian (ECL) language examiner.

I try to offer useful knowledge in my language lessons which suit the personal expectations of the given student.

I taught Hungarian at the university mostly to Erasmus students while as a private tutor I have given lessons to both younger and older generations so I try to fit the actual lesson to the personal needs, level of knowledge and particular interests of the students.

I emphasize mostly the importance of communication, but of course, we learn and develop grammar, vocabulary, and the four skills (reading and listening comprehension, written and oral communication) too.

My philosophy and ambition is to turn the hard work of language learning into an enjoyable and entertaining process since only interesting and amusing lessons can motivate students and make the learning process easier.

My main aim is to give practical and useful knowledge to students who need to attain not only the grammatical structures and vocabulary but above all the communicative skills with which one can use our (not too easy, but very beautiful) language.

In short I concentrate especially on useful (language) knowledge.

I readily undertake speech practice classes too. If you would like only to converse and chat to refresh your Hungarian skills, I could help you too with pleasure. I like to teach very much, especially Hungarian, so I try to do everything to make the learning process a very useful and entertaining activity.

Erdősi Vanda vagyok, magyar nyelvet tanítok. Ez a hivatásom, a kutatási területem és a hobbim is.

Magyar mint idegen nyelv szakon szereztem diplomát, majd alkalmazott nyelvészeti doktori képzésen vettem részt. Kutatási területem a magyar mint idegen nyelv kommunikatív oktatása, a sikeres kommunikáció taníthatósága az idegennyelv-oktatásban. Ebben a témában készül a doktori disszertációm. 2002 óta tanítok magyar nyelvet a Pécsi Tudományegyetemen és magántanárként. 2010-2011 között a Pécsi Tudományegyetem egyetemi tanársegédjeként tanítottam. Fő tárgyaim: a magyar mint idegen nyelv tanításának módszertana, pragmatika, kommunikációs kurzusok, gyakorlati magyar nyelvtan, interkulturális kommunikáció. Részt vettem a magyar nyelv jövendő tanárainak egyetemi képzésében. Saját tananyagot készítettünk, mely megjelenés előtt áll, jelenleg egyetemi tananyagként használják. Jelenleg a Pécsi Tudományegyetem Általános Orvostudományi Karán, a Nemzetközi Oktatási Központ magyar nyelvtanára és tananyagfejlesztője vagyok. Hivatalos nyelvvizsgáztató vagyok magyar nyelvből (ECL nyelvvizsga).

A nyelvóráimon igyekszem az egyéni igényeknek megfelelő, hasznos tudást nyújtani. Egyetemi keretek közt főként Erasmus-ösztöndíjas hallgatókat tanítottam, magántanárként pedig a fiatalok mellett az idősebb korosztály is gyakran megkeres, így megpróbálom mindig az adott személyre, érdeklődésre szabni az órákat és a tananyagot. Elsősorban a kommunikációra helyezem a hangsúlyt, de természetesen a nyelvtant, a szókincset, valamint a négy készséget (olvasott szöveg értése, hallás utáni értés, írás, beszéd) is fejlesztjük. Fontos, hogy szórakoztató legyen az óra, hiszen csak így lehet élvezetessé tenni a nyelvtanulást, és a diák is motiváltabb lesz tőle. Legfőbb célom, hogy a megszerzett tudás tényleg hasznosítható legyen, a diák sikeresen tudjon kommunikálni, megértse a magyar nyelvet, és könnyen megértesse magát. Beszédgyakorlatokat is örömmel vállalok. Nagyon szeretek magyart tanítani, szeretek emberekkel foglalkozni és kommunikálni, ez pedig segít nekem abban, hogy élvezetes nyelvtanulási folyamatot és valódi nyelvtudást nyújthassak.

Ich habe an der Universität Pécs Ungarisch als Fremdsprache/Hungarologie studiert und an dem Programm der Doktorschule für Sprachwissenschaft teilgenommen.

Mein Forschungsgebiet ist die kommunikative Unterrichtsmethode des Ungarischen als Fremdsprache, und wie man Strategien zur erfolgreichen Kommunikation im Fremdsprachenunterricht vermitteln kann. Das ist auch das Thema meiner

PhD-Dissertation.

Seit 2002 unterrichte ich Ungarisch an der Universität Pécs und auch als Privatlehrerin. Zwischen 2010 und 2011 war ich als Universitätsassitentin an derselben Universität tätig. Die von mir unterrichteten wichtigsten Lehrveranstaltungen waren die Folgenden: Methodik und Didaktik des Ungarischen als Fremdsprache, Pragmatik, Kommunikationsübungen, Übungsgrammatik Ungarisch, Interkulturelle Kommunikation. Ich habe auch im Ausbildungsprogramm des Lehramststudium für Ungarisch unterrichtet. Ich habe mit meinen Kollegen auch einen eigenen Unterrichtsmaterial zusammengestellt, der später herausgegeben wird. Momentan wird er an der Universität als Lehrmaterial verwendet.

Ich unterrichte jetzt im International Studies Center an der Medizinischen Fakultät der Universität Pécs, ich beschäftige auch mit Etwicklung von Lehrmaterials.

Ich arbeite auch als offizielle Prüferin (ECL Sprachprüfung, Ungarisch).

An meinen Sprachkursen bin ich bestrebt, nach persönlichem Bedarf, praktisches Wissen anzubieten.

An der Universität habe ich vor Allem Studenten unterrichtet, die Erasmus-Stipendiaten waren, aber privat habe ich sowohl jüngere, als auch ältere Schüler. Insofern versuche ich, die Stunden nach individuellen Bedürfnissen zusammenzustellen.

Ich lege hauptsächlich auf die Entwicklung der Kommunikationsfähigkeit Wert, aber daneben finde ich die Förderung sowohl der Teilkompetenzen (Grammatik- und Wortschatzvermittlung), als auch die der vier Hauptkompetenzen (Hör- und Leseverstehen, bzw. Sprechen und Schreiben) grundsätzlich wichtig. Meiner Meinung nach müssen die Stunden auch amüsant veranstaltet werden, denn nur so wird der Lehrprozess interessant und motivierend.

Mein wichtigstes Ziel ist, dass sich das erworbene Wissen zum verwendbaren Wissen gestaltet, mit dem die Lernenden erfolgreich kommunizieren können, dass sie die ungarische Sprache verstehen und sich auch verständigen können. Sprechübungen biete ich auch gerne an.

Ich unterrichte Ungarisch sehr gerne und ich mag es, mich mit Menschen zu beschäftigen und mit Ihnen zu kommunizieren. Dies hilft mir dabei, interessanten und motivierenden Unterricht und einen erfolgreichen Lernprozess mit echten Sprachkenntnissen anbieten, bzw. erzielen zu können.
