I was born in Bonaire, one of the Dutch Antilles.

I moved to the Netherlands when I was 13 and I lived there for 20 years. I had the opportunity to live in Italy for two years, which allowed me to improve my Italian level.

Learning and teaching languages is my profession, my hobby and my passion.

For the past five years I have been teaching Dutch and Italian as a private teacher individually and to small groups. I have had students from different nationalities and of different ages and professions.

I have a Bachelor in Italian language and culture and a Master of Arts in modern languages and linguistics.

I have been teaching languages since 2009.

My approach is usually based on the student’s level and needs and therefore it is personalized.

In general the main focus is on oral exercises in order to achieve correct pronunciation, which in turn will allow the student to comprehend the spoken language faster and feel more comfortable.

My approach is comparable to that of a child learning to speak, hence the main idea is that the student learns grammatical rules by reading simple texts. My lessons consist of a balanced mixture of grammar, reading, conversation and exercises.

Sono nato a Bonaire, una delle Antille Olandesi. A otto anni mi sono trasferito in Olanda dove ho vissuto per 20 anni. Ho avuto la possibilita’ di vivere in Italia per due anni; questa esperienza mi ha permesso di perfezionare il mio livello di italiano.

Le lingue sono la mia passione, mi piace insegnarle e studiarle. Negli ultimi cinque anni ho insegnato privatamente olandese e italiano singolarmente e a gruppi di studenti.

Il mio approccio e’ in genere personalizzato in base al livello dello studente e a cio’ che intende raggiungere. Durante le mie lezioni gli esercizi di pronuncia sono molto importanti in quanto una corretta pronuncia permette allo studente di comprendere meglio la lingua e di sentirsi a suo agio quando la parla. Il mio metodo di insegnamento e’ paragonabile a quello di un bambino che impara a parlare: lo studente impara le regole di grammatiche leggendo semplici testi. Le mie lezioni sono costituite in maniera equilibrata da un mix di grammatica, conversazione, esercizi di lettura e di scrittura.
