Detailed Profile in English

About me

Hello! My name is Iryna. I've been teaching now for about twenty years at the university. I have also had rich experience with translation, interpreting and teaching.

I love meeting new people, working with people, learning about new cultures and teaching people about English speaking culture. I work with a wide variety of people: students and adults in small groups and individually.

I love teaching and I always search for new helpful techniques and methodologies of teaching.

I try to involve everybody at all times in my class and to make each class motivating to assist in learning. If you’d like to know anything more please don't hesitate to contact me!

Qualifications & Experience

I am a qualified professional in English teaching with the state Diploma, graduating in 1993.

I have been teaching English for about 20 years now, and I have dealt with students of universities and colleges aged 16-25, adults of different age groups and schoolchildren of 12-16 years old. Also I have taught English by profession: IT specialists, air-traffic controllers, legal specialists, agrarian and economic specialized professionals, preparing for certified tests in English.

In 2000 I gained the US-Ukraine Award for Excellence in Teaching from participating in ACTR ACCELS.

Teaching Approach

I mainly use the communicative approach in teaching.

The communicative approach is based on the idea that learning a language successfully comes through having to communicate real meaning. When learners are involved in real communication, their natural strategies for language acquisition will be used, and this will allow them to learn to use the language.

My favourite courses are from Oxford and Cambridge Schools.
