My name is Jelena and I am from Serbia.

This is where I received my primary and secondary education. As a child, I travelled a lot and encountered amazing people all over the world. Unlike most of my friends, whose interests meandered from medicine to physics, the one thing I was sure of from a young age was that I would one day be a teacher.

I always found myself helping friends by explaining things to them, so I simply could not see myself in any other profession besides teaching. My strong desire to teach led me to apply to Faculty of Philology. In my spare time, I like to travel, watch films and read books.

After a four-year program, I finished at the Faculty of Philology at the University of Belgrade. During my studies, I gained a scholarship to go abroad and enhance my knowledge of Italian and English Language.

I completed successfully a very important course at University of Perugia in Italy (C2 LEVEL) and spent a lot of time in Italy. After that, I came back and had a chance to apply my knowledge while teaching Italian and English in a prestigious School of Foreign Languages in Belgarde. I was working with students, adults, but also kids.

I decided to continue my education and specialize increasingly in teaching methods. Therefore, I enroled in a Master program degree and got a job in another language school. I am currently working for two language schools and teach Italian and English Language.

My professional experience has given me a sound linguistic knowledge as well as good cultural awareness, which I think is very important to language learning.

It is essential that teachers are committed to their work and very tolerant. I tailor my tutoring sessions based on individual student needs and learning styles. I tend to establish a rapport with students which allows them to feel at ease and build confidence in their own capabilities through the support and encouragement I provide them. While making learning fun, which I believe to be an important part in helping students, I develop their interest by using interesting and innovative teaching materials.

A well prepared teacher produces higher student achievement. I keep myself updated with new teaching strategies and learning tools in order to make each person’s learning experience as successful as possible.
