I'm a Native French speaker, qualified FFL Teacher (French as a Foreign Language) with 10 years of experience behind me, and I'm working full-time as a self-employed tutor in my own language school "The French Lesson" created in Cambridge UK, and now in Marseille, face-to-face and online. I've been teaching FFL for more than 10 years, on Skype for 6 years and Verbalplanet since May 2015.
I have a Master degree in History of Art and Archeology and a Bachelor in French Literature from La Sorbonne University, Paris. I worked many years in museums and as a Teaching assistant at Poitiers University (France).
In 2010, I moved to the UK and decided to start teaching French as a Foreign language. I was a French Teaching Assistant in schools, and started studying FFL teaching methods. I lived in Cambridge UK for 4 years, so I speak English fluently. In Cambridge I founded 'the French lesson", I was teaching French to children (from 2 years old), to students from Colleges of the University of Cambridge, and to professionals, from beginners to expert levels.
I always had really good feedbacks and all the students I helped passed their exams with excellent results.
I have good experience in teaching people with dyslexia and specific learning difficulties. I had a training to work with newly arrived immigrants on alphabetisation and Illiteracy.
I really enjoy teaching one-to-one and being a freelance Teacher is for me the best way to use my own method and to teach people from all over the world, England, China, Brasil, United States, Spain, India, Italia, Egypt, Australia...I've met so many great people since I've started! That and my love for the French language are a few of the reasons why I love teaching.

I use different methods of teaching like the constructivist method or the structural approach, etc; depending on the people I teach, their level, needs and aim. Lessons are tailor-made to suit the student's learning style.
I speak in French as much as possible during the lessons, even with beginners, except to explain the grammar to make it as simple as possible to understand and memorize.
A typical lesson consists of some conversation first, to recap all your knowledges and to help you feeling more comfortable if you are a bit rusty with spoken French. Then there is always a part focussing on grammar and tenses followed with oral exercises to practice these new rules and to be sure everything is clear and understood.
I like to work on a specific topic, and focus on vocabulary and everything already learned to practice oral comprehension and spoken French. I can choose the topic depending on what you're interested in, so that we can exchange interesting ideas and opinion while practising everything you already learnt.
I provide exercises and material to give you the opportunity to practice on your own some of the grammar rules/ tenses between the lessons, which is very helpful if you want to learn and improve your French as much as possible.
Bien préparé, très bonne pour la confiance, généreuse et bien pratique, c'était une très bonne leçon. On a été donné un liste de mots et phrases que l'on a trouvé difficile à la fin de la leçon.
An excellent lesson from Eleonore.
Excellent lesson - recommended!
Enjoyable and interesting lesson. I enjoyed the text that you had chosen and look forward to reading more.
