About me - English

Hi, I'm Debs. I'm an English teacher/writer/editor from the UK living in Madrid.

I moved to Cadiz five years ago where I trained and qualified in TESOL. I taught children, teenagers and adults at different levels in a private academy. After two glorious years there I moved to Madrid. I taught in another private academy for a year and qualified as a Cambridge speaking examiner. I currently examine at YLE, PET, KET, FCE and CAE levels.

With my years of experience inside the classroom I can help you with any aspect of English be it pronunciation, speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, error correction, exam practise and conversation practise. Whatever your goal is, we can design the classes together to meet your requirements.

Teaching Approach

I am dedicated to designing a lesson that suits your needs. Tailored, interesting and dynamic.

If you want to focus on:

speaking - we can do role plays, natural conversation, debates and more.

listening - we can do listening activities that are interesting and fun, e.g. listen to songs, the news. I will help and correct you!

grammar - i have lots of entertaining ways of practising and learning this.

conversation - we can have debates, talk about a variety of topics, have role plays and create crazy situations.

Or we can focus on other skills and design a class that mixes a bit of everything. At the end of the day, it is YOUR class.
