About me - English
Hello, I am Alfredo Ramirez Vasquez. I am a professional English teacher. I have a bachelors degree in TESOL. I have more than 5 years teaching experience in Mexico. I am native English teacher, don't worry, I lived 20 years in the USA. I currently live and work in Mexico.
I began teaching immediately after I graduated from university in 2010. My first job was teaching elementary students English at a bilingual school in Oaxaca named Cumbres. They were sixth graders and it was a real challenge but it was great experience; I taught there for 6 months. While I worked at Cumbres I taught at Lincoln English Institute. This was an English school that offered English at all levels. I taught there for 6 months as well. After this, I started teaching high school English at La Salle University in Oaxaca. I taught reading comprehension classes, speaking classes and Cambridge preparation courses. At the same time that I worked at La Salle, I also worked at Berlitz Oaxaca. Berlitz really helped me discover different teaching methods. I taught 620 hours of English to all levels here. I currently teach at Truper. This is a multinational tool company from Mexico. I teach English at the non profit sector of the company. I teach at all levels and also teach TOEFL preparation courses to teachers from the town and engineers from the company.
I really love to teach English. I am proud of being an English teacher because I want to be the best. I am really patient and always try to make my classes fun. I believe that making mistakes in class is part of the learning process and you should not be afraid to make them. I always will always try my best to have a great class prepared for you. Don't be afraid to learn English. I will make it as easy as possible. Thanks!

Teaching Approach
I believe that explicit grammar as an introduction to the topic is important but the whole lesson should not be grammar focused. There should be many opportunities, depending on the student's needs, to practice speaking, writing, reading and listening. I really like to focus on pronunciation because it is an essential part in transmitting a clear spoken message. Furthermore, I like to, obviously, begin from easy to difficult. For example, if we are learning the future tense, the student will first see many example of the future tense, identify examples of the future tense and the finally produce the future tense.
I would like to add that I am also very flexible to the student´s learning style. Just because I have my own way of teaching does not mean I always have to stick to it if I see that a student can learn better through another method.
