About me - English
I am a native English speaker from the UK, and I currently teach at the number one ranked university in Mexico. I have over 8 years experience of teaching English to students of all ages in Mexico and also in South Korea. I have a clear, understandable accent and friendly nature. I am a patient person and feel that I can explain grammar topics easily and clearly. In my spare time I enjoy travelling, cycling, reading and listening to music.
Qualifications & Experience
I have a degree in Tourism & Business Management from the University of Birmingham (UK), and I have a teacher training qualification which I studied for in Guadalajara Mexico. I have 8 years teaching experience which has consisted of 4 years of primary school students and 4 years of high school, university, and adults. In addition to teaching English, I have also taught and am currently teaching business English, literature, creative writing, and legal English to high school and university students. I have also taught content classes in Business Studies at high school level for the last 2 semesters.
I am qualified to examine Cambridge PET, KET and FCE speaking and writing examinations, and I frequently invigilate BULATS examinations.
I have taken part in conversation and debate classes and am happy to practice speaking related to any topic, in order to improve fluency.
Teaching Approach
I feel that I am a meticulous teacher with a keen eye for detail. I feel I am excellent at perceiving the requirements of a student and adapting my approach accordingly. I like to be friendly with my students to try and get the best out of them in terms of their ability. I like to encourage as conversation and day to day dialogue as much as possible.
