Hello, my name is Mohamed Abdelkader and I'm an experienced native Arabic language tutor currently living in Saudi Arabia. I have been teaching Arabic online since 2016. I am currently offering a free initial trial lesson for new students.
About me - English

I am Mohamed Atef, a teacher of English as a second language. I have been teaching English since I graduated from the faculty of Education, English department, of the Alexandria University in Egypt in 2009. My teaching experience includes teaching in two schools, one in Egypt and another in Saudi Arabia plus teaching adults in two language institutes in Alexandria, Egypt.

I'm an up-to-date teacher of English who always seeks learning the latest methodologies and apply them in classes. That is why I took the CELTA course and have been able to apply almost all what I have learnt from it in the last two successive years. Moreover, I am always into reading and internet browsing through which I get new techniques that keep me updated.

My main objective is to have fun for myself through teaching and for learners through learning. I believe that this aim can get achieved when three elements are available; a well prepared teacher, encouraging atmosphere and educational sitting, and a well-motivated learner.

My most preferable target learners are adults, though I have a good experience in teaching learners of all ages. I believe that every level and age category has its own abilities, needs, stimuli, ideology, and drawbacks. Therefore, a good teacher is the one who can strongly and totally be aware of every single strength and weakness of their learner and know how to deal with them. However, a good rapport between a teacher and their learners and full understanding and awareness to the learners' culture and backgrounds can really play a great role to fulfil that aim. In the end, I am always ready for new challenges.

Qualifications & Experience

As for my qualifications, I graduated from the University of Alexandria faculty of Education, English Department, in 2009. I have been teaching English since that year.

Through working in my career, I have been developing myself by taking courses and observing many experienced teachers. Now, I have the ITTC (Intensive Teaching Training Course), CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) from the International House.

Concerning my teaching experience, I worked for some schools and language training centers. The first one was New SLS language school in Alexandria where I taught English to intermediate level students in 2009. At the same time I worked for ASEB language academy. Then, I worked for AXON and New Horizons. In 2012, I flew to Saudi Arabia to work for Dar Al Thikr Language school where I'm still working till now teaching English to intermediate and upper intermediate students.

Teaching Approach

To teach a language, I believe some innovative techniques should be used by teachers to facilitate both; teaching and learning. For me, I use some helpful methodologies that can make it easier for me to teach and funnier for learners to learn.

One of my techniques is teaching through visuals, especially in vocabulary lessons, to elicit information from the learner because inductive learning achieves better production from the learner than the traditional deductive one. Moreover, I use interactive techniques to teach grammar like TTT (Test Teach Test) and the guided discovery approach. To teach writing, I use samples and presentations. For feedback, I use many ways like the direct feedback and self-feedback. For listening, I play audio tracks not more than twice and I use pre-listening and post- listening questions, and of course I pay attention to teaching vocabulary before listening. For reading, I teach skills like skimming and scanning through reading comprehensions and I also vary the reading purposes, so I teach how to read for specific information and how to read for guest.

Finally, I teach speaking, which I consider the most important productive skill, through debates and argumentative topics that creates an encouraging atmosphere to debate and argue after brainstorming and coming up with the main point of argument. In short, teaching should be fun in order to make learning fruitful.
