Hello! My name is Lauren. I'm an avid traveler, and I'm from South Africa.

I'm an enthusiastic and committed teacher with 4 years experience of teaching English as a foreign language. I have traveled to many countries, met many people from different backgrounds and enjoy immersing myself in different cultures. I recently moved to Spain from Thailand.

My interest outside of teaching English are: English Literature, singing, dancing, playing guitar, reading and being creative.

After graduating from the International Hotel School in 2009, I went on to work in two different hotels in Cape Town, later becoming the Assistant General Manager and marketing manager of a boutique hotel in Cape Town. I then left the position as AGM to travel to the USA to work for Princess Cruises.

Since completing the TEFL course in 2012, I have been teaching English as a Foreign Language in countries like Thailand and China. My most recent role allowed me to not only teach but build specific course materials for the intended audiences and teach a diverse variety of students, of all ages.

All of this experience has allowed me to develop sound assessment and teaching skills, excellent organisational ability, time management skills and the ability to adapt training programmes to meet individual and organisational needs. And of course create fun and creative lessons!

My teaching approach is very similar to my approach to life - always have fun!

During my experience as an English teacher, I have found that my students, no matter what their age, learn through feeling comfortable and laughing - using those tools as triggers when in a conversational environment.

The lessons are suited to your requirements and make use of materials such as textbooks, videos, songs, audio and reading texts. Having taught students of different ages and levels from beginner to intermediate conversation or grammar, Business English and Hotel English, I am able to assist you with any of your English needs.
