About me:

My name is Matthias, I'm a native German and I speak accent-free German ("high-German"). I've been teaching German online and offline for more than 4 years now. Prior to that, I used to work as a freelance translator ( German-Spanish-English) and I've lived in different countries. Languages and everything that is connected to it are my great passion: people from foreign countries, other cultures and different accents and dialects.

In the past, I worked as a freelance translator and I used to teach German to refugees as well as children in German as a foreign language.

- I use the "communicative language approach", which states that language acquisition is primarily achieved by speaking and only secondary by learning grammar. Therefore, my goal is to encourage my students to speak from day 1.

- Pronunciation is crucial for me. I want my students to learn German the right way and to speak with a natural native-like accent. - Another aspect which I consider important and that distinguishes me from other tutors, is my excellent audio and video quality as well as a stable internet connection.

Zu meiner Person:

- Dabei ist mir deine Aussprache sehr wichtig. Ich will, dass du Deutsch richtig lernst und mit einen sehr guten Akzent sprichst. Denn am Anfang ist nicht die Anzahl der Vokabeln wichtig, sondern WIE du die Wörter aussprichst. Lebst du bereits seit Jahren in Deutschland und willst den Sprung von einem nur "mittleren" zu einem "fortgeschrittenen" Deutsch (C1-2) machen ? Kein Problem, ich helfe dir gerne in meinen Aussprache- und Betonungsstunden ( Phonetik des Deutschen).
