Über mich - Englisch

Marhaba!

My name is Dana aqrabawi, I'm 28 years old and I'm Jordanian, I live in Jordan, I was born and raised in Jordan so my mother tongue language is Arabic. I have a total of 5 years experience. I have a bachelor degree in computer engineering therefore my English language is excellent. But computer engineering wasn’t my passion at all, I was in love with learning languages and literatures and specially Arabic and English literatures, and I am passionate about this field.

In addition to language teaching, I enjoy learning other languages like the Italian language and the French language. I learned French at the Institut français de Jordanie in January/2017 and Italian at Societa Dante Alighieri at Amman in October/2016.

Abschlüsse und Erfahrung

I have worked at the consortium for global education ( CGE ) institute from 1/November/2013 till 1/October/2014 as an Arabic instructor, teaching foreigners the Arabic language at beginners, intermediate, and advanced levels. I have been teaching the non-speaking Arabic language to people from different countries and different nationalities. So, I have gained a lot of skills like, easily dealing with people from all over the world and new teaching methods and skills. Throughout this period of time I was doing my own researches on different learning methods and techniques and understanding the Arab culture and also I worked as a freelancer giving private Arabic classes in both MSA modern standard Arabic and colloquial ( Levantine), and also as a translator and interpreter from English to Arabic and vice versa.

I continued my career path as an Arabic teacher for foreigners at both the EUROCCL Institute and the JORDAN LANGUAGE ACADEMY in 2016. I taught both classical MSA and colloquial (Levantine) Arabic language for different levels and different purposes for instance, teaching political and military educational material for figures in the Ministry Of Defense of the United Kingdom, foreign & commonwealth office, diplomats and army people from different countries and nationalities.

I have also participated in a program for specifically training teachers of Arabic for non-native speakers at the University of Jordan. I gained a huge amount of skills and experience. I have self motivation, I am flexible and a hard worker. I pay attention to detail, I am quick to pick up new skills, eager to learn from others, and ambitious to develop myself, and a wide range of skills.

Currently, I am a freelance Arabic teacher at the British Embassy in Jordan, director of the languages department at the Korean cultural institute of Jordan (ARIRANG) and also I'm working on my own Arabic learning book, which will be published in July 2018.
