Acerca de mí - Inglés

Bula vinaka, my name is Tarisi Vunidilo and I am originally from Fiji. My dad, Navitalai Sorovi and my mum, Mereseini Sorovi are both from the island of Kadavu, Southern Fiji. I was born and educated in Suva.

Certificaciones y experiencia

I studied at the University of the South Pacific (Suva, Fiji) majoring in Pacific Geography and Sociology from 1991 to 1994. I spent my second year of study at the University of Hawaii as a Cultural Exchange Student in 1993. I graduated in 1994, and I began my museum career at the Fiji Museum on the same year. In 1996, I graduated with my Postgraduate Diploma in Archaeology at the Australian National University, and became the head of the Archaeology department at the Fiji Museum. I have participated in numerous archaeology excavations around Fiji. After moving to New Zealand, I completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Maori and Pacific Development in 2006 and graduated with my Masters in Anthropology from the University of Waikato in 2010. I always enjoy learning and teaching the Fijian Language. I have also written a bi-lingual book(Fijian and English) called Nai Talanoa ni Lapita: The Story of the Lapita Pottery, targeting children between the ages of 7-12 years old.

Método de enseñanza

My teaching approach is very interactive. I expect students to be actively involved in their learning. There will be weekly homework. I believe, having homework will encourage students to do further research during the week, leading up to the next class. I also welcome families to learn together. I have the ability to work with younger children. I always endeavour to make learning fun, interactive and at the same time- educational.
