My name is Sofia and I am a qualified teacher from Thessaloniki, Greece. I am a graduate of the Hellenic American Union (Department of Translation and Linguistics). After many years of studying and attaining professional and academic qualifications, I commenced my professional teaching career in my home country. For 18 years I worked as a full time teacher of English and Greek, tutoring both children and adults, providing both online and face-to-face classes according to the needs of my students. Now, based in the UK, I continue to provide the same educational services to children and adults within my city and the surrounding area as well as farther afield by special arrangement. It always makes me very happy to see them making progress, constantly advancing in their understanding of the language and attaining further self-confidence in its application, and I never cease to be amazed by how much one's life changes when one masters a new language. Equally exciting for me is the way in which new opportunities open up for my students both in their personal and professional lives.

In my current teaching role, I am often asked to provide teaching programmes focused on Greece's culture, civilization, Ancient and Modern History, geography, customs, societal values and traditions.
