I am extremely passionate about teaching English and nothing gives me more satisfaction than teaching my language to others and watching them improve and achieve their dreams and goals.

I’m relaxed and easy going and get along with many different types of people. I have many interests including literature, cinema, languages, gardening and cooking. I’m culturally aware and am interested in current affairs and world events. I have travelled extensively in Asia, Africa, Europe and the US & Canada and I love being in cultures different to my own and out of my comfort zone.

I am CELTA/DELTA qualified and have years of experience teaching general English (all levels from A1-C2), Business English and exam preparation courses (Cambridge FCE, CAE, CPE/IELTS), I am also an certified Cambridge oral examiner. Regardless of your goals, I can definitely help you take your English to the next level.

I have a BA (Hons) degree in French and Spanish and in addition I speak basic Portuguese and Dutch to C1 level. I believe my experience of studying languages makes me your perfect teacher as I'm able to empathise fully with you, the problems and difficulties you might have learning my language are probably the same issues I faced. I know how difficult it can be to learn a language and in my mind this makes me the ideal teacher to help you achieve your goals and ambitions.

I believe strongly in a student-centred approach to teaching, your needs and requirements are what drive the lesson and I believe in working together to achieve results. Based on your needs and objectives, I design tailor-made lessons that guarantee you make concrete progress in the areas you need to. If you have specific work or school related goals, want to study to speak better English on holiday or to prepare for an examination, I can help you achieve your objectives. In short, I will teach you the English you need.

My teaching style has been developed based on my own language studies. The most important factor from my perspective is that you feel comfortable enough to express yourself, in my experience students perform best when they are relaxed and at ease. My objective is to have you talking as much as possible, sometimes you will work on fluency, sometimes on accuracy. At the end of your lesson I will provide you with feedback and ideas on how you can improve.

I firmly believe that lessons should be relaxed, fun and educational. It is my belief that students perform to the very best of their ability when they are comfortable enough to make mistakes as without mistakes, progress is impossible. I don’t want you to be afraid of making mistakes, I want you to make them, laugh at them, learn from them and progress. I will correct your pronunciation, spelling, grammar or vocabulary errors.
