Hi! I'm Evelin!

I'm a passionate teacher and a technology fan, so teaching online is just about paradise for me! I've been teaching English -and other subjects- for 12 years (I'm not old yet, I just started really young!) in different countries -I LOVE travelling- and in various settings, including primary and secondary schools, tertiary institutions, companies and, of course, online! My most current role was as the Programme Leader of the ESL department in a New Zealand College, where most of our students were Asian; this made me even more interested in different cultures and in the approaches needed for teaching people from various backgrounds.

I'm a trained teacher, and I'm also CELTA certified -which I got through the University of Auckland-, and I have experience with all age groups. I specialise in Differentiated Instruction, so to put it in simple words, I love developing personalised lessons for my students and I enjoy helping them learn the way THEY like to learn, which usually results in really engaging classes and high levels of motivation for both of us! To me, it's really important that you feel comfortable during the lesson so that we can make the most out of it, so I'd say I'm quite easy going and relaxed!

My teaching style is very friendly and relaxed. It's important to me that you feel really comfortable in class, a safe learning environment will truly allow you to grow. I will listen to you and tailor our lessons to your needs, goals and learning style. We can focus on the topics, activities and skills that you enjoy the most. I believe feedback is a very important part of learning so after each class I will share a feedback file for you, which will include details of your performance in accuracy, pronunciation and vocabulary, together with explanations and tips for improvement. Anything else that you'd like or think will help you learn, let's just talk about it :)

Me apasiona enseñar y también la tecnología, así que enseñar online es un paraíso para mí! He enseñado inglés -y otras materias- por 12 años -empecé muy joven!- en diferentes países -me encanta viajar- y en diferentes ambientes, incluyendo escuelas primarias y secundarias, instituciones terciarias, empresas y, por supuesto, online. Mi rol más reciente es como Jefa del Departamento de Inglés en un instituto terciario de Nueva Zelanda. Allí la mayoría de los alumnos son de Asia, lo cual me hizo interesar todavía más por otras culturas y métodos para enseñar a estudiantes provenientes de diferentes lugares.

He estudiado para ser Profesora de Inglés, y también tengo el certificado CELTA, que obtuve en la Universidad de Auckland, y tengo experiencia enseñando a niños, adolescentes y adultos. Me especialicé en Instrucción Diferenciada que, puesto de manera simple, significa que pongo especial atención en desarrollar clases personalizadas para mis alumnos, y disfruto de ayudarlos a aprender del modo en que ellos disfrutan aprender, lo cual usualmente resulta en una gran motivación tanto para ellos como para mí. Me resulta muy importante que te sientas cómodo en nuestras clases para que puedan ser efectivas, así que soy muy amigable y con un estilo relajado para que siempre te sientas bien aprendiendo!

Puedo ayudarte con el idioma para preparar exámenes, entrevistas, viajes al exterior, empleos, o simplemente para mejorar tu habilidad con un idioma tan bello! Para esto, ofrezco distintos tipos de clases y cursos, y podemos conversar sobre cuál será el mejor método para ayudarte.

Mi estilo para enseñar es muy relajado. Me gusta hacer que mis alumnos se sientan cómodos y que participen tanto como sea posible. Planifico las clases de acuerdo a tus objetivos, intereses y al modo en que te guste aprender, así que es realmente muy flexible y podemos enfocarnos en las actividades, habilidades y temas que más te interesen. Considero que el feedback es muy importante para el aprendizaje, así que cada clase te compartiré información precisa sobre tu desempeño y lo que haga falta seguir trabajando.
