I am from Manchester, UK, and have been teaching English for five years. I am 28 years old and have taught English in five different countries around the world. I love to help people learn and reach their goals, whatever that goal might be, including entering university, getting a new job, or learning to speak a little for upcoming vacations. I like to build real connections with my students and you will find lessons with me become like talking to a friend as we get to know each other.

Other interests include: comedy, film, psychology, philosophy, MMA, and literature.

I am CELTA qualified and have five years teaching experience in Latin America and Europe. I have taught at a mixture of big and smaller schools as well as for big companies, such as Wall Street English and smaller schools concentrating on exam preparation. My last role was as a Service Manager for Wall Street English in Siracusa, Italy where I created a student-centred environment and a real sense of community among the students. I also have a lot of experience with one-on-one tutoring and have taught online before privately. I have experience teaching all ages and levels and can offer exam preparation (including IELTS), conversational lessons, Business English and interview prep. I also have a BA degree in Sociology from the University of Leicester, and academic copyediting experience.

This will depend on what you want! This is why I offer a free trial lesson which I spend getting to know what your goals are and more about you. Then I can put together a plan based on your goals. Exam preparation lessons differ in structure and content from General English or Business English for example.

As a general rule, I believe in taking a communicative approach where we develop your skills primarily through real communication, having real-time conversations so you can start to use new grammar and vocabulary in a natural way. Of course there is a structure when we learn new language but I always incorporate lots of real talking time. This might be open conversation, role-playing real life situations, or through games. I believe that you learn best through your own intuition, think of me as your guide on your journey towards your English language goals. Also, as we learn more about each other, I will be able to make the lessons fit your goals and personality more and more.
