I have many years experience teaching languages. I started teaching English as a foreign language in Spain, my home country. I now live in England where I also teach English as a foreign language to secondary school students, and I teach French and Spanish to teenagers and adults.

I started teaching languages online about three years ago, when I moved towns and two of my students enjoyed their lessons so much they wanted to continue. We were able to continue our lessons using Skype and email.

I qualified from Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 1997 with Licenciatura en Filología Moderna (BA in Linguistics) majoring in English and with a Spanish component. After that I did a course to qualify as a teacher and in England I hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).

I have taken a postgraduate course in teaching Spanish as a foreign language, and a course for teaching adults.

In England I have worked teaching in secondary schools, in colleges of further education, in offenders's settings (jails) - teaching basic skills, and for a number of private language classes providers.

I also work as translator French/Spanish/English and I have 90 credits of the master in translations at UWE that I´m currently taking. This master is French/English/Spanish.

Our online lessons work very well, the technology allows me and the student real time communication. I have a camera so the students can always my facial expressions and body language, which is very important when learning a foreign language.

I always aim to teach the language for communication. However, I believe it is very important to adapt the methods and resources to the students. Some students do love learning grammar and the reason why we say the things we say, some students may not enjoy grammar as much. The important thing for me is how the student learns and what his/her aims are.

Whatever the student's preferences, my students speak in the target language from day one, according to their level.

Soy originaria de España, aunque llevo viviendo mucho tiempo en Inglaterra. Por eso tengo mucha experiencia enseñando el español como lengua extranjera, y también hablo un inglés correcto y fluido que me permite ayudar a mis estudiantes hispanohablantes a mejorar su inglés oral y/o empezar a aprender desde cero.

Para las personas con un nivel oral intermedio de la lengua estudiada y que quieran simplemente mantenerla viva, preparo temas de conversación interesantes y divertidos, que nos hagan pasar un buen rato a la vez que practicar la lengua. No te preocupes mucho por intentar saber qué es lo que tienes que estudiar en relación con la gramática, yo te dirigiré según tu nivel y necesidades. Relájate y déjate enseñar!

Soy licenciada en filología, con español e inglés, tengo el CAP (Certificado de Aptitud Pedagógica), y en Inglaterra soy profesora cualificada.

Llevo enseñando lenguas extranjeras tanto en clases particulares como en colegios y academias desde el 97.

En Inglaterra además de enseñar español y francés, también enseño ESOL, Inglés como lengua extranjera a alumnos extranjeros en colegios públicos.

Este año además voy a empezar un curso de especialización de enseñanza de habilidad lectora en general, especializándome en dislexia.

Mi metodologia se centra en la evaluación de las necesidades del alumno, es decir por qué y para qué necesita aprender esta lengua. Una vez establecida la motivación, trabajo con el alumno según éstas. Los ejercicios, lecturas, etc son adaptados a cada estudiante.

Siempre ayudo a mis estudiantes a usar la lengua que están aprendiendo. Con palabras simples que van entendiendo los principiantes, hasta temas más complicados e interesantes para los hablantes con más nivel.

Enseño usando una herramienta de Internet que se llama clickmeeting. La calidad de sonido es mucho mejor que Skype, además de contar con pizarra y screensharing. Las clases se graban y luego os las mando para que podáis repasar tranquilamente en casa. Lo que se escribe en la pizarra también se puede madar por email en formato pdf.
