I wrote an earlier review but I've now had over 30 lessons. I never started with an exam / work related goal in mind, but thought it might be fun to learn to speak basic Dutch. I don't have a background in languages apart from reasonable English grammar. That I'm still at it after more than 30 lessons probably says it all: I've really enjoyed learning with Sandra. She is obviously very experienced, incredibly patient, supportive of the inevitable difficulties encountered and has constantly sought to focus on areas that would interest me. Her grammar is very good, which she relates well to English equivalents. The lessons are never boring. We all have different language backgrounds and linguistic abilities, but for me she's been excellent.
I am Dutch, and am fluent in both Dutch and English because I grew up bilingual. I also learnt German and French, which is helpful because quite a few Dutch words come from these languages. My family is from Den Haag, I studied in Eindhoven, and I have lived near Utrecht and in Brabant.

I enjoy working with any level of student, whether you are just learning how to read and write in Dutch or are more advanced. Perhaps Dutch is your second language and you would like to increase your vocabulary and pronunciation skills for work, or you need to brush up on your Dutch because you have not spoken it for a while. Maybe you need to take the Dutch "inburgeringsexamen", or you need a B2 level because you want to study or work in the Netherlands. I only use official learning methods, and will work with you to achieve your goals.
I am fluent in English. Ik spreek ook vloeiend Nederlands, ben in Nederland naar school geweest en heb daar gestudeerd en gewerkt. Als u naar Nederland vertrekt om daar te werken, u hebt kinderen die de beginselen van de Nederlandse taal nodig hebben, of u bent een student die deze taal graag wil oefenen of beter begrijpen, laat mij dat dan weten. Ik kan u ook meehelpen met het voorbereiden op de Interuniversitaire Taaltest Nederlands voor Anderstaligen (ITNA), het Certificaat Nederlands als Vreemde Taal (CNaVT), het NT2 examen of het inburgeringsexamen.
