Ausführliches Profil auf Englisch

Über mich

I have more than 20 years of teaching experience. I have a large range of teaching experience from very young students to adults. I enjoy teaching and am considered to have a caring approach and I try to make sure that learning takes place in a relaxed but studious situation.

I am an experienced online tutor, currently teaching at a university.

If you want to make full use of learning another language, you have to speak it. In these lessons, you're going to learn how to speak English in a conversation without hesitation. This is vital because by learning to take part in conversations yourself, you are going to teach yourself to respond aloud in real, spoken English.

Even if you already know some English, this course will be a great revision and may even teach you some things that you don't know. This course teaches you English in an innovative, comprehensive learning package based on how people actually say things. Work through the lessons, listen, speak, and learn!

Lehransatz

Tutors here on Verbal Planet are excellent and expert in their subject. I’m also among them doing my level best. To make myself a little different than others I’ve offered my students some attractive ideas.

1. If you’re not satisfied with any of my classes, I’ll not charge for that.

2. If you book the lessons in bulk and wish to discontinue for any reason, the money is refunded in full.

3. If I’m not online at the class time without information, I’ll teach one additional class as a bonus.

4. If you suggest another student to take lessons with me, I’ll teach you 10% more of the new bookings done by the new student.

Having worked with pupils of different ages and abilities, I can offer help with speaking for absolute beginners and reading and writing as well.

My lessons are very relaxed and entertaining. I handout study material and worksheets which I have prepared myself. For online students, lessons take place via video calling and interactive whiteboard. They receive their lesson plan in advance through email.

I teach through a virtual whiteboard where the lessons are recorded to revise any time. I add audio-visual presentations to make learning interesting.

There are many things that you can do to improve your pronunciation and speaking skills:

Listen to spoken English as often as possible. Listen to how speakers pronounce various words and phrases and "model" your pronunciation on what you hear.

Learn the phonetic alphabet. Use the phonetic alphabet page as a guide to pronouncing new words and don't forget to learn the word stress of a new word. Every English word has its own stress or intonation. Word stress is important. In fact, it is more likely that someone misunderstands you because of wrong word stress than because of the wrong pronunciation of a sound.

Work out which sounds cause you most problems in English. Depending on what your first language is, you may have problems with certain sounds. For example, French speakers have difficulties with "th", speakers of Mandarin have difficulties with "r" or "l", and Arabic speakers have difficulties with "p" and "b".

Practice the sounds you find difficult. A useful exercise is a "minimal pair" exercise. For example, if you have difficulty distinguishing between "p" and "b", try practising pairs of words which are the same except for the sound "p" and "b"

Be aware of intonation and sentence stress. Not all words in a sentence have equal stress, and generally, only the "information" words (nouns and verbs) are stressed.

Learn to recognize spelling patterns. There are often many ways to pronounce a particular spelling pattern, but it certainly helps to know what the variations are.

Don't rush. If you speak too fast, the danger is that you could skip over some words, fail to pronounce them completely or mix them up. If you speak too slowly, you might end up sounding unnatural. But it's better to speak slowly and clearly than too quickly.

Sincerity and devotion to learning a language are the keywords. Speaking right English is a task. Once there is mastery over the language and when your inner voice tells you that you were effective, this serves as a confidence booster. Continuous efforts are required when learning anything and this applies much to the English language.

Akshat is a nice guy and I had a very enjoyable trial session with him. It was a first time and we had some initial technical problems, so I can't say much more at this stage, but it was a promising start.
