I am a native speaker of Greek, born and raised in Thessaloniki. I have been studying languages from an early age and have always been passionate about linguistics. My teaching experience dates from 2009. I have taught classes, both big and small, as well as individuals. My students are often second-generation Greeks who wish to learn the language of their family, individuals married to Greek citizens or simply lovers of the Greek culture and language.

I hold a BA in English and Language Teaching from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and an MA in Medieval Studies from King's College, London. I sat the Cambridge exam for Proficiency in English aged 15, my final score being 90% ("A"). I also hold the C1 Certificate in German, awarded by Goethe Institut.

I have been teaching English and Greek since 2008, to a variety of students. I have worked with children as well as adults, both privately and in schools.

When it comes to learning Greek, I strongly recommend and promote the acquisition of good grammatical skills. My preferable method of teaching combines grammar with colloquial language and the development of a good inventory of vocabulary items. However, I consider my teaching approach to be quite flexible. I am happy to adapt to the preferences of the student, and where grammar and in-depth linguistic analysis are not desirable, I do not hesitate to follow simpler approaches. Whether a student is looking to study the language in depth, or to pick up a few useful words and expressions for their holiday, I am confident of being able to achieve a good result.

I believe that, above all, lessons should be fun. The needs and desires of the student should not be overlooked, and a casual and friendly atmosphere is essential. I truly believe that anyone can learn a language, regardless of its difficulty, and I always try to cultivate and nurture each student's love for and interest in the language they are learning, as well as the culture and history that brought it into being.
