Hi, I'm Helen, a highly qualified and experienced teacher of English as a Foreign Language. I am a native British English speaker with a clear voice. I'm a friendly, kind, adaptable and knowledgeable teacher. I've taught everyone from asylum seekers to business students. I've learned both French and Portuguese as a second language, though I'm not fluent, but I do understand what it feels like to be learning another language.

Most of my students say I am patient, sympathetic and clear. I love art, music - I play the guitar and sing to a high standard, animals and am also a qualified counsellor so am very interested in psychology. I have a Bachelor of Arts 1st in Linguistics and English Language, and a Grade B CELTA teaching qualification, as well as almost 20 years experience of teaching one to one and in groups. I've taught Summer school and normal EFL classes, asylum seekers and schoolchildren. I have done an lot of online and one to one teaching. I have a very good grasp of the English language and can also help you with your essays or university assignments.

I provide tuition using a variety of media, mainly through talking and chat type on Skype, also using pictures, flashcards, songs/music, audio, video and textbooks. I design my lessons to suit the individual student. We can work through a book, or have conversation classes geared to particular topics, or practice pronunciation, vocabulary or grammar.
