My name is Caoimhe O'Reilly and I am from Ireland. I am organised, devoted, upbeat and most importantly, student centred. I am a first class honours masters of psychology graduate. Before I completed my university studies I spent extensive time teaching english as a foreign language. During this time I taught students of all ages. I always had a great rapport with my students, who consistently reported enjoying our lessons together. I have helped students prepare for state exams as well as helping students with business English, conversation skills, grammar problems and any other issues the students wanted to focus on. I am a very patient teacher. As I have also learned languages I realise that it is a difficult process and I bring this understanding to the classroom to help my students learn in a stress free environment. My expertise in psychology helps me to tailor lessons in a unique way to each different learner to adapt to their specific learning style.

I have a first class honours masters degree in Psychological science.

I have a 120 hour TEFL certificate.

I have two years teaching experience. During my time teaching I taught children from four years of age up to adults. Students ranged from beginner to advanced. I helped students prepare for state exams, improve conversation and grammar, and learn targeted business language for professional english interactions. I conducted oral examinations throughout the region of Chubut, Argentina as well as preparing written and aural examinations. As well as formal teaching, I taught weekly workshops through which English was learned through fun and games.

On top of teaching in institutes, I developed, organised and ran weekend immersion camps for children during which I employed two other native speakers and all three of us taught English in a fun environment through music, dance, arts and crafts, theatre and games.

My teaching approach is very much 'learner centred'. I believe that students should do almost all of the talking during a lesson with regular interaction and constructive input and encouragement from me, the teacher. I believe that repetition and ensuring materials are applicable to the needs of each specific student are the two most important things to ensure optimal learning and to keep the learner engaged and interested, I believe that patience and encouragement are key to building a students confidence in learning a language, and without confidence learners rarely reach their potential. Extensive lesson planning is critical to ensure that I can make the best use of time in every lesson and knowing a particular student's goals helps me to tailor each lesson to the student's needs.
