Experience

Over 20 years experience teaching English in schools and industrial locations around the world. Over the past 2 years I've been teaching online so have good experience of teaching remotely and using different technology to enhance the learning environment.

I have experience of teaching both general English courses and academic exam preparation.

Teaching online one to one means that I can vary my teaching approach depending on the needs of individual students.

For general English classes this means that students will be doing much of the work ensuring that they are producing high levels of English language in as short a time as possible. As courses are one to one we can also focus on specific areas to improve the students language.

For academic exam preparation there are 2 main approaches - The first is to work through a complete course focusing on the exam in question. This is particularly useful for students who have never taken an academic exam and have no prior training.

The second option is a problem solution approach. Students complete different practice materials based on the relevant exam and then we focus on problem areas to improve their skills. This is particularly useful for students who have already taken an exam and not reached the required score or for those who only have a limited time for preparation.
