Hello, I am Adrián, an English Studies B.A from Madrid, the capital of Spain.
I am 26 years old and I would like to teach Castilian Spanish to English-speaking people. Castilian Spanish differs from Mexican/South American English in so much more than accent. Word choice, pronunciation, mannerisms, diction and fluency are a whole different matter. European Spanish is not widely popular today, but the language of El Quijote can be funny and useful in both personal and business settings.
I studied in the UNED, the biggest Spanish University as of now. I minored in Translation and got a Honor Mention (9.8 out of 10, in the Spanish system) in "Inglés Instrumental",
a subject that tracked the degree of perfection in terms of grammar, vocabulary and oral understanding.
I have been working as a freelance teacher for the Academia Unamuno, in Madrid, for two years now. I mainly teach English to young Spaniards, but I sometimes also teach Spanish to English-speaking foreigners.
AS A CASTILIAN SPANISH TEACHER, ENGLISH IS NOT ALLOWED (you can speak it, though).
I will try MY BEST to NOT SPEAK a single word of English during the whole lesson. You can speak English all you want, but I will focus on immersion and fluency as opposed to memorization or vocabulary. My method is simple: try to THINK and SPEAK in Spanish for an hour a day. Does that sound difficult to you? It is not.
