Hello! My name is Tahmina! A little bit about my background... I am fluent in Japanese (my first language) since I spent 20 years of my life in Japan. I grew up in Japan and graduated from a Japanese school.

Also, having English as my second language, students (English speakers) experience a greater progress because there is no barrier to effective and clear communication during our lessons, which is extremely important in learning a new language!

I have almost 8 years of professional teaching experience, providing online lessons, group lessons and one-on-one lessons. Besides my private tutoring experiences, I was also hired as a Japanese teacher in a private school located in downtown Toronto. I had 12-15 students in my class, ranging in age from 12 to 24 years old.

Currently, I live in Japan and I have 48 students that I teach regularly in person, 21 students that I give online lessons to. I teach English to Japanese people and Japanese to English speaking individuals. Also, I work at language school as a teacher and I have a total of 46 students.

My teaching method includes the use of textbook which I employed while teaching at Toronto Japanese Language School (textbook, GENKI at all levels). I prepare and work with my own worksheets with different topics for each lesson.

Also, employing movies (ex.Studio Ghibri) and Anime are a crucial part of my teaching tactic since the visual learning is highly effective and even recommended by teaching experts. For language learners, film can often convey a message better than printed or spoken words. Depending on my student's preference and proficiency level, we can also have a relaxing chat which is a great way to improve one's speaking skill as well as her/his pronunciation.

Understanding and applying what a student needs into my lessons is a key to my student's achievement and success, therefore, please feel free to make suggestions and requests so we can work on your goals together!!

こんにちは。ミナです！私は日本で育ったため、日本語の読み書きはネイティブレベルです。また、第二言語として英語が話せるので、英語スピーカーの生徒たちにとってはコミュニケーションがとりやすい授業を提供する事ができます。

第一言語が英語、又は日本語の生徒たちに個々の言語を使って授業を行うことができるので誤解のないスムーズなレッスンを受けることが可能です。教師として生徒たちに最大限の機会を提供するのが私の役目なので、生徒の要求に合わせてレッスンを行うことを優先しています。

私は個人レッスンとグループレッスンの両方を8年以上担当しています。その他にもトロントと日本のプライベートスクールで教師をしてきました。

私のレッスンでは、トロント日本語学校で教師をしていた時に使っていた教科書を活用しています。（教科書名"GENKI"）

授業では、毎回異なったトピックを用いて、個人個人に合わせて作成したワークシートを取り入れています。また、授業のスタイルとして映画（主にスタジオジブリ）やアニメなどの動画を取り入れたレッスン方法（映画鑑賞）は人気があり、日本語を学ぶ手段としては大変効果的です。

またコーヒーを片手に会話をしながらレッスンを受けることも可能です。このようなレッスン方法は生徒のレベルと好みに合わせて選択する事ができます。

この様な会話を中心としたレッスンはスピーキングスキルの向上だけでなく発音の改善にも繋がります。

教師として、学生が求める授業スタイルを理解し、学生の要望にあったレッスンを提供することは言語を習得する上での鍵であり、目標達成への近道でもあります。一緒に目標を達成するためにも提案がある場合はぜひ聴かせてください！！
