Hi my name is Paola, I am 52 years old and I live in a small town in Piemonte. I have been teaching Italian for 5 years and English for 20 years. I'm very fond of languages and I have attended a lot of training courses for teachers in Italy and in the UK.

One of my interests is history of art and I understand that teaching a language using a motivating topic can be really useful. For this reason in my lessons I focus not only on grammar and pronunciation, but also on the culture that characteristics of each country.

I am an easy going and friendly person, ready to satisfy my students' needs.

- I have been teaching English to children and adults for 20 years in state schools

In my lessons I use different teaching approaches:

-Comunicative: students are involved in real communication using authentic materials such as videos with short dialogues, parts of films, documentaries or newspaper articles

-Grammar: analysis of grammar rules particularly difficult for students

-CLIL( Content and Language Integrated Learning): It’s dual-focused education where attention is given to the topic as well as the language. Students are actively involved in the language, so they are more motivated to use and learn it. CLIL can be a Geography lesson conducted in English but it could also be a lesson on another subject such as film, literature or even sports.

For Cambridge Exams KET, PET, FIRST, CAE I help students to practise the different papers (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking) providing useful exercises and websites.

Salve a tutti mi chiamo Paola, ho 52 e vivo in una cittadina in Piemonte. Insegno italiano da 5 anni e inglese da ormai 20 anni.

Mi piacciono molto le lingue straniere e ho frequentato diversi corsi di aggiornamento per insegnanti in Italia e nel Regno Unito.

Uno dei miei grandi interessi è la storia dell'arte e ho sperimentato che insegnare una lingua straniera usando un argomento motivante può risultare molto utile.

Per questo motivo nelle mie lezioni non analizzo solo la grammatica e la pronuncia, ma anche la cultura che caratterizza ogni nazione.

Sono una persona solare e disponibile, pronta a soddisfare le esigenze dei miei studenti.

Gli studenti sono coinvolti attivamente nell'uso della lingua e sono più motivati nell'apprendimento. CLIL può essere una lezione di geografia in inglese, ma si possono utilizzare altre materie come arte e letteratura o film e eventi sportivi.
