My name is Drew Smibert. I have been teaching English full-time for 18 years! I am a TESOL certified, native English speaking ESL teacher. I have been teaching English one-on-one online for 10 years. I am a 41 year old Canadian male.

I grew up in Kelowna, which is a small city about 4 hours outside of Vancouver, Canada. Hockey and Lacrosse are my favorite sports. Once, my house was so close to the forest that I could see bears, deer, mountain lions and coyotes within walking distance.

I love making new friends and listening to people tell me about themselves and their countries. I am married and I spend a lot of time with my two little girls aged 8 and 9 years old. I have a really special gift that I love sharing with everybody. Jesus lets me see his face (eyes, nose, mouth and beard) in every visible thing. I paint what I see on my shirts and hats. After studying Science in University, I worked for 1 year at HSBC Bank Canada in Kelowna, but it made me develop a hatred for banks. So, I started teaching English in 2002 and I have NEVER STOPPED!

I attended a prestigious private institute where I graduated from an exclusive 3 year teacher training course. I became certified as an ESL teacher with a specialization in TOEFL preparation in 2002 and I have been teaching English ever since.

Over the past 18 years I have taught English in universities, high schools, elementary schools and private schools. I have been teaching English one-one-one online to Koreans, Chinese, Brazilians, Indians, Mexicans, Sri Lankans, Libyans, Lebanese and other nationalities for the past 10 years.

I am also a second language student. I have been studying Spanish for the past 18 years. So, I use the "golden rule" with my students while teaching them English. I treat second language students as I would like to be treated as a second language student. I work hard to give them a trustworthy, patient and warm service.
