My name is Soumen Mallick, I am a native Bengali speaker from Kolkata, West Bengal, India. I enjoy reading all kinds of books, and the knowledge and perspective that my reading gives me has strengthened my teaching skills and presentation abilities. I love to meet new people and finding ways to help them. I am here to help people to learn Bengali.

I am still a student. I am doing my masters from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. Bengali is my vernacular and I know it very well. I have been tutoring with verbalplanet.com since April 2015. I have helped to devlop the content for a language learning mobile app called 'Hello English.' My writings were published in editorial pages of leading Bengali daily for multiple times. My Bengali story also got published in a journal and I have a blog where a publish my Bengali poems. I know all regional forms of Bengali language (except Sylheti). Now I am writting a book for bengali learners.

The teaching approach depends on the student how he/she wants to learn. If somebody just wants to learn how to communicate with people in Bengali then I will help him/her to learn simple sentence construction and to use those sentences in regular conversation. Some fact based conversations also will be covered - like conversation based on 'shopping in a market', 'booking a hotel' and 'hiring a taxi' etc. Finally we will be practicing some Bengali stories to achieve perfection. If somebody wants to learn the Bengali literature, then I will describe the history of the language, how it generated from Sanskrit and Pali, how it develops in to it's modern form, different spoken forms of Bengali language and how they are distributed, and most importantly the written form of the language. I love my language and I want to spread it all over the world as much as I can.
আমি শ্রীমান সৌমেন মল্লিক একজন ভারতীয় বাঙালি। বাংলা আমার মাতৃভাষা এবং হিন্দি ও ইংরেজীতে আমি সাবলিল। আমি আশাবাদী যে আমার ছাত্ররা সন্তুষ্ট হবে।

আমি এখন ভারতীয় বিজ্ঞান ও অনুসন্ধান সংস্থা থেকে জীববিদ্যায় স্নাতক করছি। আমার অনুসন্ধানের বিষয়বস্তু হল প্রজাপতির চালচলন।
অভিজ্ঞতার কথায় বলতে পারি বাংলা দৈনিকের সম্পাদকীয়তে একাধীক বার ছাপা হয়েছে আমার লেখা। আমার বাংলা গল্পও প্রকাশিত হয়েছে এবং আমার বাংলা কবিতার একটি ব্লগও রয়েছে।
অতিরিক্ত হিসাবে বলতে পারি বাংলা ভাষার সমস্ত শাখা সম্পর্কে আমি অবগত।
