Ciao! My name is Andrea and I am a native Italian from Rome. I am a professional Italian teacher, I love my job and I love to meet new people from all over the world belonging to different cultures. I was born in the south of Italy, Calabria, and my family is from Naples. I lived almost my entire life in the beautiful Rome, but I also lived abroad in Los Angeles and London for several years in the past. Abroad I started to give individual and group Italian lessons to foreigners. I have been teaching Italian to foreigners for many years now (since 2013).
Certificaciones y experiencia
I am a professional native Italian teacher with years of Italian language teaching experience, graduated from University of Rome.
I started to work as a freelancer teacher abroad in London and LA. I’ve been working with schools, private institutes and nowadays I am working mostly online because it gives me more freedom. I really enjoy this way of working: technology gives me the opportunity to live in different places and to work traveling without stopping in one place only for too long. I love my job and I am passionate about it. I have been working on the most popular websites out there on the web, where I accumulated thousands of hours of lessons. My students have always shown me gratitude for my work, I am so happy for their success and I am proud of their hard work and achievement.
I have had and I still have lots of students coming from all around the world. They come from places like US, Canada, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Netherlands, UK, Greece, Armenia, Moldavia, Austria, Russia, Egypt, Lebanon, South Africa, Middle East, Turkey, Malesia, New Zealand, Australia and even more.
You can read their reviews and comments about my work if you desire to. My students show me gratitude for the good results and improvements they achieve attending my lessons. They tell me enthusiastically about the successes achieved both at work and in private-daily life.
Método de enseñanza
I always try to understand what kind of student I have in front of me, where he/she comes from and his/her age. The way I teach to kids is different than the way I use to teach to adults. I always try to meet the student's needs, guiding him/her gently. If the student needs to know more grammar I start my lessons teaching more rules, following a Structural approach: this means that I would start teaching the language as a complex of grammatical rules which are to be learned one at a time in a set order. Along with that it is possible to do some grammar translations to and from the target language and to practice some Audio - Lingual method (learning through the practice of dialogues of every situations). Only after all this I push the student towards a Direct method, that means that it is possible only to use the target language: the teacher explains everything using the target language only and the learner is not allowed to use his or her mother tongue.
When the student starts to speak fluently I like to focus more on the pronunciation, about the way he/she sounds practising with the student more conversation, analyzing his/her fluency, mental blocks or mispronunciation. The student should speak fluently after few months, depending on lessons frequency and commitment.
