I'm Lydia and I am a native Greek speaker. I grew up in a small island in the Aegean but for the last 10 years I have been living in Athens.
I am an experienced philologist (teaching Modern and Ancient Greek language, Latin, History, Literature to secondary school students) and a Greek Language teacher to foreigners. I have taught private lessons, both in person and via Skype and as a volunteer in social centers. I have participated in many seminars aiming at teaching modern Greek as a foreign language and I hold a specialization in “Teaching modern Greek to foreign language speakers in Greece” by the Center for the Greek Language.
In general, I love traveling, art and nature walks. I am really interested in traditional music and dances. Lately, I am deep involved in audiovisual arts and social media while I've started learning Turkish.

The class is built according to the students' needs, expectations and learning style and organized to their own pace. In general, my approach is a communicative method, placing the student in the center of the educational procedure. It is important to develop all four linguistic competences: understanding and production of oral language, understanding and production of written language, although cultivation of these skills depends on the students' desires.
I will offer rich, professional and authentic learning resources, designed to be engaging and practical across a variety of contexts and roles for all levels. Moreover, I will encourage students to combine language lessons with Greek culture using true-to-life material and ,why not?
