Hello! My name is Valerie. I am specialized in coaching individuals for TEF exams.

I am from France and now I live in Canada. I am very happy to teach on Verbalplanet.

I offer dynamic & tailored lessons according to my student' needs and individual personality.

I have an extensive teaching experience with students from all over the world (from beginner to proficient levels) and I enjoy my job a lot!

I make my students feel comfortable during the lessons and increase their self-confidence when they speak French. At the same time, I am very careful with pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar errors and use a lot of tried-and-tested techniques to help them to improve their French for personal or business purposes. I focus on quality and efficiency.

I got my university diplomas at Lyon II University (France), first a Bachelor’s degree in French Literature and Linguistics (licence de Letttres modernes) and then a diploma in Teaching French as a Second Language (TFSL) (Mention FLE) .

I have extensive experience in teaching French to adults: the last three years in a French University in Montreal and for more than 15 years in various companies (conversation, grammar, vocabulary for travel or work, business writing and oral presentation).

For two years after my graduation, I taught French to children and teenagers: primary and secondary schools in Lyon (France).

My teaching approach is tailored and result-oriented. After speaking with you on Verbalplanet, I will know which activities (conversation, vocabulary & grammar exercises from internet, books or that I built myself, grammar drills, drills for conjugation, describing a picture, simulations, dialogues, presentations, emails writings, etc.) will be more efficient and successful for you. There will be no charge on my side for this first contact.

At our next class on Verbalplanet, we will do the learning activities adapted to your level (according to the CEFRL) and needs. At the end of each lesson, I will provide you with some useful material and exercises. Then you will have the opportunity to practice and learn more in between sessions. Learning is a team work!
