My name is Michalis and I am a 37 year old teacher of Modern Greek with great teaching experience to adults. I am a native speaker of Greek and I speak English and Spanish. I live in Athens and I love travelling all around the world. I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and discovering new parts of the world. I am keen on ancient civilizations, hiking and museums.

I really enjoy the interaction with people from other cultures and that’s why I teach Modern Greek to foreigners. I look forward to e-meeting you and sharing my culture and my knowledge with you!

I have been working as a teacher of Modern Greek to foreigners for the last 14 years. I have a Bachelor degree in Greek Philology and Linguistics and since the first years of my studies, I have found it very exciting to teach Greek as a second language. My interest for multilingual environments and different cultures led me to teach Greek to foreigners. The nationality of my students has been diverse: I have been working with Europeans, Chinese, Pakistani, Americans. This diverse audience contributed to the development of my own skills: flexibility, adaptability and understanding.

I have a bachelor degree in Studies of Greek Philology and Linguistics, Faculty of Philosophy, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a Master degree in Cultural Organizations Management, Faculty of Social Sciences, Hellenic Open University.

Moreover I have a great experience with refugees as I have been teaching them voluntarily in cooperation with the “Greek Council for Refugees”. I have also worked as a teacher of Modern Greek in the public High School of N.Peramos in 2012 and in the same year, I worked as a teacher of Modern Greek at a summer course (at 149o Primary school of Athens) for immigrants and refugees organized by the University of Thessaly.

My eagerness for learning and my belief in lifelong learning led me to participate in numerous seminars regarding the use of new technologies for the distance learning and the development of educational material and in training for teachers of Greek as a second/foreign language.

In an interactive lesson we will focus first on communication and speaking. I will give you every opportunity to express yourself in Greek and then to learn about the Greek culture.

I have a lot of materials such as texts and grammar exercises which will help you to learn the Greek language correctly. Starting with a text, we will check the vocabulary and the grammar phenomena according to the structure of the language. If you want to develop your language skills more, I can give you material in order to practice by yourself.
