Acerca de mí - Inglés
Hi, my name is Nicola and I’m a native speaking English teacher. I'm a born and bred Londoner with a London accent, specialising in teaching the British accent & pronunciation (available in my course list). I'm currently in Mexico City teaching English as a Foreign Language online to adults, which is really interesting and rewarding. It's an amazing privilege to be able assist people to realise their true potential.
I specialise in helping students who are nervous or lacking in confidence, my students feed back that I am kind and understanding. I teach a lot of students across the globe and I can help you to master English as a pathway to achieving your goals.
I'm an aspirational teacher who focuses on your goals and dreams as a future English speaker. I am patient, empathic and motivational and believe that anyone can learn to do anything. I have a particular focus on the development of self-confidence alongside acquiring the language itself. I’m also learning Spanish, and therefore have a good understanding of some of the challenges that come with learning a new language.
I have experience teaching beginners, intermediate and advanced level English.

I hold an accredited Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) qualification, which means I have been trained specifically to teach speakers of other languages. I have tutored adults in London for over 15 years and have been teaching English online for the last 6 months.

All students who attend my lessons will receive personalised teaching, where classes are planned in advance, collaborative and in keeping with your learning goals. In order to make your English learning meaningful and useful my classes have a focus on developing your functional language skills so that you can use your English in the situations in which you will need it. My teaching is largely topic-based and based on your current level you will learn new vocabulary and develop your conversation and grammar skills around a variety of topics and concepts. Intermediate-advanced students work with articles, video and lectures to further develop the language and enhance listening skills. I'll also teach you some useful tips and tricks for remembering the language rules!
My classes are fun & relaxed, I use props, drawings, gestures and (sometimes!) assignments to assist with out of class learning.
