Hi, my name is Lana, I am 37 years old and I currently live near Zagreb in Croatia. I am a native Croatian speaker but I also speak and teach English, French and Croatian.
Learning and teaching languages is my love, a profession I truly enjoy. I have over 15 years of experience teaching all age groups. I adapt to my students' needs to the maximum and always consider their wishes and possibilities. I am quite flexible in my teaching approach and I combine a variety of digital and interactive materials that I share with students. I offer one free trial lesson.

It is important for me to assess the learning style for each student and to adjust teaching methods accordingly, but also to help students organize their own learning outside classes. I continuously monitor students' progress through various evaluation methods and adapt to meet their needs. I use cooperative forms of teaching and learning, project-based learning, problem-based learning, multidirectional communication (teacher-students and student-student), independency in learning, experiential learning and similar.
During lessons, the greatest emphasis is on communication through dialogues and various oral tasks. I combine existing textbooks for learning Croatian language with my own materials. I use Google Doc to prepare content for the classes and share it with students so that they can prepare in advance if they wish. During class, I write down important vocabulary and grammar rules in the same document. This tool is very practical because both the student and the teacher can write and collaborate simultaneously. In addition, the student always has access to the material we have covered in each class and can use it for learning and repetition. I am a big fan of digital learning tools and I use various digital interactive activities - pictures, videos, quizzes, crossword puzzles and similar.
I share the materials for the next lesson as well as the homework at the end of the class. I encourage students to analyze the course of teaching, what they did well and what was challenging. I also encourage students to evaluate their own work.

One lesson lasts 55 minutes.
In the trial lesson I asses the learning style for each student and adjust teaching methods accordingly. In the following lessons I help students organize their own learning outside classes.
For lesson delivery I use Skype or Google Meet platforms. During lessons use my own teaching materials. Most commonly I use Google Doc to prepare content for the classes and share it with students so that they can prepare in advance if they wish. It is important to me that during classes students learn interesting and important information about Croatian culture.
I share the materials for the next lesson as well as the homework at the end of the class. I encourage students to analyze the course of teaching, what they did well and what was challenging. I also encourage students to evaluate their own work and to argue their suggestions.
