Konnichiwa!

I was born and raised in Japan. I now live in the Netherlands.

I was the company owner of a language school in Shinjuku, Tokyo for 8 years. We specialised in teaching Japanese from beginner to business levels for European and Asian ex-pats living in Tokyo. I also taught Japanese as a headteacher in addition to training other Japanese teachers. I have a total of 18 years of teaching experience in the language industry. I also have work experience in the hotel/travel, media / TV production, and business consulting industries.

Currently, I have students from the UK, the USA, Germany, Italy, France, Denmark, Sweeden, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Indonesia, China, and Japan.

It is always interesting for me to teach people with different work experiences and backgrounds : )

Because I believe that teaching a language always opens my new world!

Don’t worry, if you don’t speak a word of Japanese. Everyone has to start from somewhere… In fact, I am learning Dutch now!

【Beginner / Pre-Intermediate Japanese】

You learn slowly from Hiragana and Katakana to basic Kanji and focus on daily conversations.

You will learn...

●Introducing yourself in both polite and casual ways for the first meetings.

●Talking about you: your hobby, work, interests, county, and family.

●Learning a different way of greetings depending on the situation.

●Asking about other people and keeping smooth conversations.

●Intonation and pronunciation practices.

●Example textbooks: Genki1&2, Japanese for Everyone and etc.

※For Intermediate / Advanced level students, I use not only textbooks but also news articles

from NHK news or internet articles and current topics from the TV program to have discussions.

【JLPT Exam Preparation】

I have taught all levels from N5 to N1. I also have teaching materials for all levels.

I am qualified to teach all levels of JLPT exams.

【Pronounciation】

Since I used to work as a newsreader, I can correct your pronunciation and intonation

by reading some articles and make you sound more like a native speaker.

【Travel / Survival Japanese】

Useful for people who are planning to visit Japan for pleasure or business.

●I like using various worksheets as my teaching materials. But if students want to use textbooks, I use Genki, Marugoto, Minna no Nihongo, and others.

●I also create course plans for students according to their needs. For example, traveling, JLPT preparations, business meeting /mannerism, or focused on conversations lessons.

●I have some experience in developing online teaching methods and designing new curriculums for Japanese languages lessons.
