Tout sur moi - Anglais

Konnichiwa! 😀

🇯🇵 I was born and raised in Japan. I now live in the Netherlands.

📚 I was the company owner of a language school in Shinjuku, Tokyo for 8 years. We specialise in teaching Japanese from beginner to business levels for European and Asian ex-pats. I also taught Japanese as a headteacher in addition to training other Japanese teachers. I have a total of 18 years of teaching experience in the language industry. I also have work experience in the hotel/travel, media / TV production, and business consulting industries.

🌎 It is always interesting for me to teach people with different work experiences and backgrounds : )

Because I believe that teaching a language always opens my new world!

🙆‍♂️ Don't worry, if you don’t speak a word of Japanese. Everyone has to start from somewhere… In fact, I am learning Dutch now!

If you don't start learning now when are going to do it?

👍 Let’s enjoy learning Japanese and culture with me whether you are a beginner or advanced level!

Qualifications et expérience

Here are some examples of my course plans and teaching methods,

🌱【Beginner / Pre-Intermediate Level】

You learn slowly from Hiragana and Katakana to basic Kanji and focus on daily conversations.

You will learn...

●Introducing yourself in both polite and casual ways for the first meetings.

●Talking about you: your hobby, work, interests, county, and family.

●Learning a different way of greeting depending on the situation.

●Asking about other people and keeping smooth conversations.

●Intonation and pronunciation practices.

●Japanese body language and mannerisms.

●Example textbooks: Genki1&2 and Minna no Nihongo.

🪴【Intermediate / Advanced Level】

I use news articles from NHK / BBC, internet articles and current topics from the TV program

to have discussions to develop higher skills. I can also organise custom-made lessons

according to students' needs.

🌿【JLPT Exam Preparation】

I have taught all levels from N5 to N1. I also have teaching materials for all levels.

I am qualified to teach all levels of JLPT exams.

🌳【Pronounciation Practice】

Since I used to work as a newsreader, I can correct your pronunciation and intonation

by reading some articles and making you sound more like a native speaker.

🌴【Travel / Survival Japanese】

Useful for people who are planning to visit Japan for pleasure or business.

You will learn...

●Getting on the various transportation and checking at the hotel.

●Going shopping and ordering in the restaurant.

●Asking for directions on the streets and the stations.

●Money and numbers.

●Manners and customs.

●Geography of Japan.

☘️【Business Level】

Introducing you to learn how to deal with Japanese people in real business situations.

You will learn...

●Visiting another company for the first time.

●Introducing yourself and being introduced to others.

●'do' and 'don't' in Japanese business meetings.

●Giving compliments and expressing gratitude.

●At the business dinner.

●Telephone conversations.

Méthode d'enseignement

🧑‍🏫 I like using various worksheets as my teaching materials. But if students want to use textbooks, I use Genki, Marugoto, Minna no Nihongo, Japanese for Busy People, Tobira and others.

📕 I also create course plans for students according to their needs. For example, travelling, JLPT preparations, business meetings/mannerisms, or focused on conversation lessons.

💻 I have some experience in developing online teaching methods and designing new curriculums for Japanese language lessons.
