Merci encore! Aurora always finds a good pace for me, with successes and challenges. We had a great general conversation, and she also suggested specific things to practice. J'apprécie toujours ses leçons!
Hello, my name is Aurore and I am a French teacher. I was born in Paris, a world centre for art, fashion, gastronomy, culture, love and also an international centre where people from different cultures and languages live together. I studied English and Spanish at school. I spent a year in Australia during which I strengthened my English. I learned Spanish in Chile during a university exchange and I practice it every day here in Playa del Carmen in Mexico, where I currently live.
Traveling and learning other languages has allowed me to open up more, get to know myself better, and foster my creativity. Learning a language is not only a new language but above all a new way of thinking, a new perception about your life and the world in general. This is the main reason why I chose to be a teacher: to be able to participate in the social and personal growth of others.
I am calm, patient and passionate. My way of teaching is based on sharing knowledge in a dynamic and fun environment. The rapid progress of my students is a real satisfaction for me.
Qualifications et expérience
I have two degrees. First of all, I studied architecture and obtained a master's degree in architecture from the school : école d'architecture de la ville et des territoires in Marne la vallée. Then, while travelling, I became passionate about teaching French to foreigners and obtained a professional certificate in French as a foreign language.
I taught French to migrants from my community as part of a public social project for a year. I have organized French language training workshops for members of hotels/restaurants abroad. I have been teaching private classes for more than 10 years. For the past 6 years, I have been working in a local language school in Playa del Carmen and giving private lessons.
Méthode d'enseignement
As a teacher, I have built my courses around the observation of my personal learning. I share the teaching in cycles and through subtle techniques, teach you French so that you can integrate it in a natural way. My teaching is based on oral communication (listening and speaking). The vocabulary I use is repetitive and progressive depending on the level, the repetition of key words allows the natural integration of the vocabulary.
I like to use French as much as possible during the sessions so that the student gets used to the accent and gives explanations in English or Spanish when necessary. I encourage students to speak as much as possible and to use their creativity and vocabulary to express themselves in French.
I share my lessons between targeted discussions based on the student's needs, in which I include data from the previous class, and new grammar rules. I also use visual aids and documents to train.
Pronunciation is a key point and driving force of my teaching, we are amazed when we succeed in speaking "local"! Are you ready to go?
