Hi. My name is Marike. From my name you can probably tell: I’m German, born and raised. By profession I’m a language teacher and for 5 years, I’ve taught German as a foreign language. I’m trained and certified by the Goethe-Institute and teach according to their method – the communicative approach.
I’ve lived in a foreign country myself, for 10 years, and sat in the same boat you’re in right now. During my time in America, I developed many strategies to learn a language and live in a foreign country. I want to pass them on to you.
Each day I accompany the integration process of my American husband in Germany. I experience first-hand the challenges of the German language and the German culture. This helps me see the language from your point of view.
I'm a professional language teacher, trained and certified by the Goethe-Institute (Zertifikat: DAF Methodik und Didaktik).
For 5 years I've been teaching German to student's with language levels ranging from A1 to B2. I offer a broad variety of focuses in my lessons, such as German at work, German for travelling, or everyday German. So far I've taught students from 11 different nations and I'm aware of how these native languages impact learning German.
I'm trained by the Goethe-Institute (Zertifikat: DAF Methodik und Didaktik) and teach according to their method – the communicative approach. My focus is on you. The lessons follow your interests, wishes, and abilities:
● Are you planning a trip to Germany?
● Do you want to speak German at work?
● Do you have German relatives you’d like to communicate with?
