I have been teaching online since March 2014. About thirty years ago I worked abroad - in Germany, Austria and Singapore - as a young English teacher. I loved the work, but missed Scotland. At that time there were not many opportunities to teach English language here, so I changed to teaching Communication Skills to adults with learning difficulties. I was a teacher in a Further Education college. Now the wonderful technology we have means that I can go back to the job I loved, teaching English language - and all from my own home in Scotland!
I enjoy working in my garden and going on long walks. I have recently started learning Spanish, so I know how it feels to learn a new language! My German is good enough to use as a support language in teaching. I also speak French, but much less fluently.
I have now taught hundreds of lessons online to people of many different nationalities, and at all levels from beginners (A1.1) to advanced level (C1.1). I have helped learners to prepare for the Cambridge B2 exam, IELTS, and also job interviews.
I have received very positive feedback from my students - my style is relaxed, but I like lessons to have structure and purpose.
My qualifications - I have a Master of Arts (Honours) degree in German and a Master of Science degree in Adult Education (both Glasgow University). I also have a certificate in English Language teaching.
I will give you -
* productive and structured lessons taught in a relaxed and encouraging way
* every opportunity to speak English in class, the focus is on you and your needs
* a friendly and efficient service at all times
After each lesson you will receive -
* written feedback
* a vocabulary list with examples
* a summary of the main grammar points from the lesson
* homework (if you would like to do homework)
* prompt correction of homework
