About me - English
¡Hola! I’m Ligia, a Spanish as a Foreign language teacher (ELE) born in 1986 in the Canary Islands, Spain. I’m passionate about my work and I have experience in teaching Spanish to students of all ages from all over the world at all levels.
My method of teaching is creative and innovative giving each student the opportunity to participate as much as possible throughout the class. All my lessons are a combination of the four abilities no matter which one is your level: reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Qualifications & Experience
I studied Translation and Interpreting at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Canary Islands). However, what I always wanted to do was to teach my mother tongue and my culture to students interested in Cervantes language. That was the reason that prompted me to follow forming in the study of Spanish as a foreign language.
I have three years dedicated to teaching Spanish as a foreign language. The first school where I worked was accredited by the famous and prestigious Instituto Cervantes, so I’m familiar with their teaching methodology.
Throughout my professional experience I have prepared students of different nationalities for A2 and B2 DELE exams in addition to other official examinations necessary for their jobs, for example, in the European Union.
Moreover, given the current high demand for students who want to learn Spanish from the comfort of their home or office, I entered the exciting world of online teaching two years ago.
The students who I have taught classes are mainly German, Russian, English and Polish. All of them have been adult students with different levels from A1 to C2. I have experience in both individual classes and groups of up to eight people. Currently I teach ELE at a private school in southern Tenerife.
