About me - English
Hello! I'm Charlotte.
Thanks for checking out my profile. I'm originally from London but now live in a very small Wiltshire village. I studied archaeology at university and have taught archaeology and Egyptology for more than 20 years. I started teaching English as a Foreign Language in 2010 and have taught people from all over the world and have worked in some fascinating places.
I love meeting people and I get pleasure from teaching students new things.
In my free time I love to run, and have just completed my second marathon and am thinking about training for my third! I also love to dance, and am a qualified Bellyfit instructor, Bellydance teacher and Bollywood instructor.
Qualifications & Experience
I am a CELTA qualified English teacher, and I have been teaching English as a foreign language since 2010. Before teaching English I taught archaeology and Egyptology. I also have a City and Guilds in Adult Education.
I can teach,
General conversational English
Business English
Military English
Business skills (presentations, meetings, telephone etc).
Exam training (IELTS, FCE, CAE, Proficiency etc).
Practical English (Interviews, form filling etc).
I can teach all levels (beginners to advanced) and have extensive online teaching experience. I try to blend all my classes with appropriate cultural training as English is not just about the language. Where possible and appropriate I try to use authentic materials.
Teaching Approach
Classes are student led - you tell me what you want to learn and the classes are catered to you and your needs.
Classes are normally split into two with the first part being about conversation and revising previous work, and the second half focuses on new grammar or vocabulary. If you want to do homework that's great and I will set listening and writing tasks for homework exercises.
I am very flexible and will change class material to suit your mood or changing requirements. Conversation is the key to learning a language, so there is a great focus on this.
