Hello, I am Hanna!
It is wonderful to virtually meet you! I am from Cape Town in sunny South Africa.
I am currently offered trial lessons so anyone who is considering improving their language skills.
I have spent the last couple of years living in the United States of America and in the United Kingdom which makes me fluent in both accents.
I think of English as something that can change your life, it can unite people of the world, it can open the doors you have been dreaming of, English can help you immigrate to a new country, you can apply for the job you have always dreamed of, travel the world and communicate with people! Live! Make incredible memories!
I am also learning Russian so I can completely understand the challenges of learning a foreign language.
I studied International Hospitality, Medicine and International Business. All 3 qualifications have a broad range of different business aspects such as development, human resources, presentations and public speaking, professionalism etc.
I consider myself an "easy relaxed" and flexible teacher. I have a good sense of humour, I think that is an important quality. Laughing is healthy!
I am also very flexible and go above and beyond for my students.
I want my students to feel comfortable enough with me to share goals and dreams if a lesson is uninteresting and they would like a bigger challenge.
I became a teacher because I really loved helping my colleagues learn English who were from all over the world while I was working on international cruise ships. It was very rewarding to see my colleagues’ progress in English. It made them very happy, confident and helped them improve their quality of life. I have been addicted to teaching ever since!
I would love to meet you, let's see if we can work together.
English is an international language and somewhere and sometime in your life, you will need it. Let's perfect it and learn together! I want to be part of your story and I can't wait to hear about the great new adventures English will bring into your world.
I have been teaching since 2015 while working on international cruise ships.
I developed my own language program to help non-natives improve their English, this helped them make more money while working in the hospitality industry.
I studied and completed my TEFL qualification and started teaching online for China and Taiwan. In my spare time, I taught face to face to non-native children and adults who had immigrated to my country. I also volunteered at the local college where I helped the underprivileged students with business and hospitality English.
I believe that continuous education is key to being a great and motivating teacher, thus I am still developing and growing my skills.
I am qualified to teach IELTS and Advanced Grammar. I am currently studying how to perfect teaching Business English and English for young children.
I have recently been apart of an amazing and rather large project with one of the biggest online English schools in Eastern Europe. I was recruited to teach group classes and moderate and proof materials with the Ministry of Education and school.
I now proofread and edit teaching materials, host speaking clubs, narrate audio and design lesson plans for less experienced teachers.
I consider myself to be a flexible teacher. I do not always make use of "conventional" teaching methods.
I believe each and every student is unique, therefore I discuss the goals with the students. I get to know their likes and dislikes. What does the student prefer? Audio? Visual? Writing? Reading? I then design n programme for the student and discuss it with him or her and together we decide the approach the student is most comfortable with.
I also make use of external resources, paid and unpaid ( I personally pay for these resources for my personal use, never the student ). This includes news articles, Ted Education, Ted IELTS, the British Council, Linguahouse, Cambridge and Oxford University. I could give you a very long list but it would keep you reading for days!
