Hello, my name is Pamela Seaman. I’m 48 years old and have lived in Spain for the past 15 years, working as an English teacher, translator and editor of English teaching books. I am a native English speaker (from Bolton in Britain). After graduating in French and Politics, I worked in London in business and journalism while obtaining an M.A.in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Westminster. I also lived in France and Slovakia before moving to Spain over 15 years ago, having completed a TEFL course at International House, Barcelona.
I am currently settled in Asturias in the north of Spain. I can speak Spanish and French fluently. As for hobbies, I love travelling, hiking and cooking, and meeting new students (virtually) from all corners of the world.
I hold a BA degree in French and Politics from Queen Mary and Westfield College (London), a Master’s in Journalism Studies from the University of Westminster (London), and a teaching qualification – Cambridge RSA/CELTA from International House (Barcelona).
I have over 15 years’ experience teaching all levels of business and general English for language schools in Granada, Madrid and now Gijon in Spain. I have also designed and held online courses for institutions and businesses and private students. As for examinations, I have prepared students for Cambridge First Certificate, Advanced and Proficiency, IELTS and EOI (Spain’s Official School of Languages).
Over the past 7 years I have combined my teaching work with translation projects for an eclectic range of customers - ranging from contemporary art museums to industrial engineering firms –and this has proved useful in helping students with any written or business-related work.
In the trial class, we will work out a roadmap for classes or courses to suit your needs, and the focus will always be on making step-by-step progress in reaching your English goals.
I am flexible, resourceful, and always strive to help my students practice and improve their speaking, writing and listening skills as much as possible in enjoyable, interactive and relevant classes. My aim is to provide my students' English level with the help they need in reaching their skills-building objectives, all the while gaining confidence and fluency in expressing themselves in English.
If you have any questions or would like to suggest a topic/skills area for our first class, please feel free to let me know. I am currently offering a discounted initial trial lesson at 50% of my normal lesson price for new students.
