About me - English
Passionate linguist and world traveler, I was born and raised in France and I have lived in various countries in the past 15 years. I have been a language teacher for more than 10 years, in many countries and online, and a language student for a lot longer than that. I'm currently studying Spanish, which I speak well enough but not perfectly yet and I am also learning Japanese and Thai. I've studied all kinds of languages over the years and they keep fascinating me.
Qualifications & Experience
I have studied in France, England and the US and have always wanted to be a teacher. I also try to keep up to date with new teaching practices and regularly take part in seminars, training courses and whatever is connected to education and languages. I've got a master's degree in Didactique des Langues and I'm a qualified DELF and DALF examiner, all levels from A1 to C2. Before I got those, I had obtained a CELTA (for English teaching) and a DAEFLE (for French teaching). I have worked with students of various nationalities, mother tongues and of all ages in both French and English.
I've been teaching online exclusively for the past two years and it's been a lof of fun. All of my students have been very motivated individuals and it's been a pleasure to see progress in all of them, sometimes very fast.
Teaching Approach
I am a very friendly, patient and well-organised teacher.
Classes are prepared according to our level, needs and preferences. Homework is always available for those who want some. I work with a variety of materials and I generally choose what to use based on the student's needs and personality. I am a grammar lover, but I do understand that it's not always a favourite with students. I will encourage you to be as accurate as possible and push yourselves, but if your goal is simply to be able to communicate, you don't need perfect grammar at all times. Very few French people actually use correct grammar!
I do recommend that you study a bit outside of class if you want to see faster progress!
