About me - English
I have lived in the centre of England all my life and have travelled extensively around the UK. I am enthusiastic to share my knowledge and understanding about my country, the culture, the heritage and the people, as well as the language itself.
I have been involved in education in a variety of roles since university: as a class teacher, teaching assistant, small-group teacher, 1-to-1 home tutor and an exam invigilator.
I studied French as part of my degree and know a little German, which may be helpful for some students.
I like people: helping them, finding out more about them, providing meaningful learning experiences for them and encouraging them to be the best they can be.
I am conscientious, patient and friendly. Previous students have said that I have a calming influence, infectious enthusiasm and that I create a productive atmosphere during lessons.

Teaching Approach
I build the content and aims of the session around the student’s requirements, which we can discuss during the first session.
I like to use resources such as articles, photos/artwork, current news and video clips.
We can have general conversation or focus on reading skills, preparing for a debate or learning about Britain and its culture.
We can look at different ways of structuring sentences, spelling and pronunciation, expanding vocabulary and grammar rules.
I have developed creative ways of teaching, I can keep the pace of a session moving and I am able to explain things clearly.
