Hello language friends!
My name is Boris and I am from a southern town in Germany, close to lake constance and the Swiss border. If you intend to spend some vacation in Germany, I recommend to visit Heidelberg which is in that area and one of the most ancient and most beautiful places. You'll find fun things to do outside and lake constance which touches three countries.
Throughout my studies in Munich, Berlin, Athens and Almeria I spoke and wrote in English and German to a variety of topics. I have spent the last 5 years working for the UN in New York where I wrote and spoke English and German. The past 10 years I spent more time outside of Germany than inside, but now I returned and I am looking forward to teach.
My studies over the course of 5 years and my PhD over a period of time of 6 years were bilingual German and English. During that time I was tutoring with a teaching service in Munich for many years. This included mainly pupils from the age of 14 to 18. During my PhD studies I was teaching university courses to students and open courses targeted for people who want to learn on the side of their job. I am TOEFL and GRE certified in English and German is my mother tongue. During my time with the United Nations in New York I was drafting communication that needed to be tailored to specific audiences and therefore I got insights into a good variety.
Learning languages can be exciting and it always should be. For my classes I therefore will find material related to the students interests or background which makes it more interesting already there. It will be so much easier to learn new vocabulary and phrases. We will use material to approach the language and on the way take with us the vocabulary and style of speaking that you need. I am open to suggestions for books that you want to use, but also can suggest material based on your interests.
