I'm from the United States but currently live in Nicaragua where I've been living for the last year and a half. I love to travel and learn about other cultures. I've traveled through much of South America and plan on going to Taiwan soon. I also enjoy cooking and reading as well as playing ultimate frisbee.
I have been teaching English for the last year and a half. I'm also the co-director of an English school. I've taught all levels of English, from the most basic classes like 'Hello, my name is ..." to more advanced classes and conversational classes. I have experience teaching children, ages 8 - 12, as well as teenagers and adults. I also tutor specifically for TOEFL and IELTS.
I believe that the best way to learn is through student-discovery. As a teacher, I guide my students to understanding grammar and vocabulary and this is proven to be the most successful way of learning a new language. I incorporate a variety of skills in each lesson, such as listening, reading, and writing but the primary focus in each class is speaking. I always try to include games since I believe the best classes are when my students are having fun.
